RELEASES ON THE 28/11/25

Alongside Joy Division, The Durutti Column were among the first artists signed to Factory Records. Their 1980 debut, produced by Martin Hannett, highlighted Vini Reilly’s delicate, reverb-laden guitar and early use of synthesizers.

The Return of The Durutti Column marked the beginning of a five-decade career in which The Durutti Column quietly became one of Manchester’s most influential acts. To mark the album’s 45th anniversary, London Records presents new editions, remastered from the original tapes and cut at half-speed for vinyl.

LP - This vinyl edition is printed on textured outer sleeve, with restored artwork and new liner notes from James Nice.

2CD - 2 discs including original album, bonus tracks, home and studio demos, and early live tracks. Features two home demos exclusive to this format. 3 essays by The Durutti Column / Factory Records expert James Nice, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie and MOJO editor Ian Harrison. Restored 1985 “cassette edition” artwork with textured “tall book” sleeve.

About this product: this is the 45th Anniversary reissue available on 2CD and LP formats.

The 2CD is housed in a tall hardback book.
