R.E.M. - Radio Free Europe 2025 10"
RELEASES ON THE 17/10/25
More than forty years after it first sparked R.E.M.’s rise via college radio, R.E.M.’s "Radio Free Europe" gets a new lease of life with the "Radio Free Europe 2025" EP.
Curated by original producer Mitch Easter, the five-track release opens with a brand-new remix by GRAMMY®-winner Jacknife Lee (known for his work with U2, Snow Patrol and The Killers). Lee—who also produced R.E.M.’s final two studio albums—offers a modernised version that retains the original’s indie-rock urgency.
The EP includes rare material from the band’s formative years, including the original Hib-Tone single mix of Radio Free Europe, B-side Sitting Still, the demo Wh. Tornado, and the dub-infused Radio Free Dub—now making its digital debut. Recognised by the Library of Congress in 2009 for its impact on indie rock, "Radio Free Europe" continues to resonate through this thoughtful retrospective from one of the genre’s most influential bands.
