David Axelrod - David Axelrod [RSD BLACK FRIDAY '26] LP

RELEASES ON THE 27/11/26

Originally issued on Mo'Wax in 2001, David Axelrod grew from a shelved late-1960s project conceived as the third Electric Prunes album for Reprise, based on the legend of Faust.

Axelrod recorded the original rhythm tracks with Los Angeles session players including Earl Palmer, Carol Kaye, Howard Roberts and Pete Wyant. Decades later, after meeting Mo'Wax founder James Lavelle through DJ Shadow, he returned to Capitol Studios to complete the orchestral and horn arrangements, adding two new compositions that reflected his life in music. Now-Again's Egon, who attended those later sessions, has partnered with the Axelrod Estate to present the album anew.
