Descendents - I Don't Want To Grow Up LP
"I Don’t Want to Grow Up" is the second studio album by Descendents, originally released in 1985 on New Alliance Records. Recorded after a two-year hiatus, it marked the group’s reunion with singer Milo Aukerman, who had been away at college, and drummer Bill Stevenson, who’d spent time touring with Black Flag.
The album introduced guitarist Ray Cooper and was the final record to feature founding bassist Tony Lombardo, who left shortly after its release. Despite being made quickly and with little rehearsal, "I Don’t Want to Grow Up" was praised for its sharp melodies, driving tempos, and bittersweet love songs — hallmarks of the band’s evolving pop-punk sound.
Emerging from lineup shifts and time apart, the record reasserted Descendents’ identity as melodic misfits, bridging hardcore’s intensity with catchy, heartfelt songwriting that would go on to influence generations of punk and emo bands.
