With this release of 36 essential recordings, VP Records had already paid a worthy tribute to the Jamaican institution back in 2004 - after all, Channel One was the number one studio on the island for nearly 10 years (1974-1984) and its productions had a historical impact on music that stood shoulder to shoulder with that of Studio One and Treasure Isle in the 1960s.
