In June 2000, after nearly seven years since their inception, esteemed underground rap collective Jurassic 5 finally released their debut full-length album. Despite high anticipation, "Quality Control" delivered on par with Jurassic 5’s outstanding EP from three years prior.

The album clocks in at almost an hour, featuring DJ Nu-Mark and Cut Chemist’s skilful turntablism alongside the group’s signature harmonies and individual solos. Tracks like Lausd pay homage to hip-hop classics while exploring themes of media and adulthood responsibility. Jurassic 5’s lyrical prowess shines on message-driven tracks like W.O.E Is Me (World Of Entertainment) and Contribution, showcasing a level of eloquence and compassion previously unseen in rap.
