In 2011 Lana Del Rey began uploading self-made music videos for her songs Video Games and Blue Jeans to YouTube, featuring vintage footage interspersed with shots of her singing on her webcam. The Video Games video became a viral internet sensation, which led to Del Rey being signed by Stranger Records to release the song as her debut single. In the same year, she signed a joint deal with Interscope Records and Polydor to release her second studio album "Born to Die".

Del Rey performed two songs from the album on Saturday Night Live on January 14, 2012, but received a negative response from various critics and the general public. Lana’s "Born to Die" Tour began on November 4, 2011, at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester, England, and ended on September 25, 2012, at the Roundhouse in London. The tour visited cities in thirteen countries across three continents. By June 2012, the tour was playing across Europe, following which it moved onto Australia, where the band played six dates – one in Adelaide, two in Melbourne, two in Sydney and a final show at Belongil Fields, in Byron Bay, on 28th July.

Among the finest performances of the entire tour this festival set was recorded for live FM Radio broadcast and transmitted across the country simultaneously. Previously unreleased on CD however, this superb event is now available here for the first time. Bonus cuts include her aforementioned SNL performance in full, plus a series of interviews from the same year.
