Matt would like to give a shout out to Ugandan label Nyege Nyege Tapes as his label of the year showcasing an amazing diversity of African electronic music ...and grindcore. Also props to WeReleaseWhateverTheFuckWeWant Records from Switzerland as his reissue label of the year who have given us plenty of amazing oddities and rarities this year. Ian Curtis: Disorders, Transmissions & A Writers Relationship - Simon Tucker

On the 18th May it will be 40 years since Ian Curtis, lead singer and lyricist with the seminal band Joy Division, sadly took his own life in his family home at the age of 23. To mark the occasion writer Simon Tucker tells us about his relationship with Curtis’ words and the music of Joy Division.
